Not American here, just a nerd that likes geopolitics and genuinely interested in other parts of the world. This article reminds me of something I had to say in a different piece only a few days ago. Trump is not the beginning neither the end of this phenomenon. Right-wing nationalist sentiments have risen across the globe. In America, it is characterized mainly by hatred towards blacks, among other things. From where I am from, it is Islamophobia among other things. Even left-wing leaders like Emmanual Macron have changed to the centrist politician with time.
I am outside of America but I have learned a bit of American history. History for black people has not been good there or anywhere else on the globe, for that matter. Whenever there is a wave of hatred spreads, it is always the people that were historically oppressed that get victimized again.
